September 25th, 2009Not much news lately. Having finished the demo, we were eager to work on some new songs. Started back at the rehearsal studio only to learn that they were closing their doors! It’s astonishing how slim are the pickin’s of band rehearsal spaces in Philadelphia. We found a stopgap, but the tiny space, dorm room smell, and dangerous, pre-war elevators are ‘costly’.
At least they answer the phone (more than can be said for most rehearsal spaces in Philly).

Recording Setup at Ant's Studio
Basic tracks are recorded. Bass and guitar hard at work this past weekend. Listened to first trial mix. Vocals coming soon.
Laying down the first tracks
February 20th, 2009Last weekend we spent an afternoon engineering the nascent recording studio at Ant’s. We mic’d the drums, routed cables, and set up a headphone mix. Nic took some pictures of the set up. We still have some work to do but—I am happy to say—we will finally be laying down some tracks this Sunday. It’s going to feel so good to ‘commit’ these songs—some of which we’ve been playing since late 2007.
